The Hourly Radio
History Will Never Hold Me
Kirtland Records [2006]
Sometimes working your ass off leads to success. Dallas TX band, The Hourly Radio knows all about pushing your product. The band has been building their own buzz since the self-released Lure Of The Underground EP back in January 2005. Great live shows, internet blogging, and good ol’ word of mouth spread quickly and next thing you know, The Hourly Radio were playing SXSW and opening for indie darlings Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Stellastarr*. Now their debut album, History Will Never Hold Me has been released on indie label Kirtland Records and the buzz has continued reaching a much wider audience. The Hourly Radio has a unique sound for an American band and is very similar to several current UK acts. They hit the listener with dueling guitars that create a large soundscape, backed with a pounding rhythm section and completed with the higher pitched vocals of Aaron Closson. History Will Never Hold Me is very repeat listening friendly and will translate easily to the stage, so make The Hourly Radio a band you check out in 2007.

Also for fans of Black Tie Dynasty.
Just great song writing on this record. The vocals are a little wussy for an American band, but if you close your eyes and pretend they are British it all makes sense.
