The Horrors: Strange House

The Horrors
Strange House
Stolen Transmission Records [2007]

Fire Note Says: UK Garage that hits you hard!

Album Review:
When you discuss bands that are truly unique, I believe The Horrors should be part of your discussion. They vacillate between a reincarnation of The Cramps, mixed with a little punk from The Damned, a spazy garage sound reminiscent of some early Makers and the Goth and darkness of Danzig. All of that makes for a very rip roaring 37 minutes including some organ that just plain leaves you toe tapping. The Horrors don’t try to be anyone else on Strange House. They are a punk rock garage outfit from the UK that will mow you down if you do not get out of the way. There are no gimmicks, no ballads, and no sappy pop songs. That is what makes Strange House worth checking out and I am sure the live show will highlight their energy.

Key Tracks: "She Is The New Thing", "Count In Fives", "Gloves"
