Fire Note Says: Holler, Wild Rose! releases that headphone album you have been looking for!

Album Review:
You will be hard up to find another Jersey band that can launch into an orchestral explosion and lavish song structure like the Holler, Wild Rose!. Their debut, Our Little Hymnal consist of songs that were created over a five-year time span, with many of the twelve tracks being well above the six minute mark and “Poor In Spirit” clocking in at almost twelve. The length of tracks might turn some listeners off but I encourage that group of people to stay with Our Little Hymnal and give it several chances because like other solid epic type groups such as Sigur Rós or Explosions In The Sky the songs grab you and bring you into them, making the length a non-factor. Lead singer John Mosloskie has the perfect Jeff Buckley/Jim James/Thom Yorke and even a little Ryan Adams type voice that carries each track, regardless of tempo, to a new level with his ability to draw out the notes and hit the high keys. Holler, Wild Rose! is a version of what I would call a modern Jam band. The songs are lengthy but contained, the lyrics are contemplative but relative, and the music is atmospheric but catchy. If you are looking for that new “headphone album”, Our Little Hymnal will be the perfect gift to treat yourself to this holiday season!
