Fire Drill Review:
It is always interesting how you listen to a reissue like it was the first time and your opinions change. The main question always is - does the album stand up to the test of time? For XTC they released the 25 O' Clock EP [1985] and Psonic Psunspot [1987] under the moniker The Dukes Of Stratosphear in order to attempt something different and more retro that didn't fit the current XTC material. You might think they were throwaways and should have stayed out of print but not only do the albums sound current they now rank up there with some of the bands best work. Sonically these remasters sound great and each reissue includes a bunch of demo tracks and extra recordings so XTC fans should definitely grab these but even if you are discovering The Dukes Of Stratosphear for the first time the albums are a solid alternative listen all the way through and can be enjoyed by an all new generation.

I would say these two albums are fantastic. I wish they had done more.
