Pet Shop Boys: Yes

Pet Shop Boys
Yes
Astralwerks Records [2009]

Fire Drill Review:
I can give props to the Pet Shop Boys for releasing quality music over the past 25 years and on their tenth record Yes, the duo bring it again. This record does not shake up much formula wise and honestly I don't think it should. They did bring in Ex-Smith Johnny Marr and Arcade Fire collaborator Owen Pallett to lend a bit more indie touch plus it makes an interesting side note. This is a group that does not necessarily need any extras as Yes has peaks and valleys like many of the Pet Shop Boys releases. It has solid singles, better club tracks and ultimately will please their fanbase. What some people don't know about listening to the Pet Shop Boys is that if you liked em in the past - you will like them now and enjoy this record!

Key Track: "Love Etc."

Band With Similar Fire: Depeche Mode
