Fire Drill Review:
Paper Route have a very retro 80's synth vibe as their music contains itself within a mid-tempo range on their debut full length Absence. At their strongest, Paper Route supply a solid flowing soundscape that in segments can be extremely catchy as the harmonized vocals and beating percussion chime in. At its worst, Absence overall can be a little too safe and Paper Route do not take many ventures off the same road or change up tempos enough to totally engage the listener. This balance holds Absence back but should not prevent Paper Route from having single success and definitely gives them room to grow on their sophomore record.
