Fire Note Says:
Probably the best pop-punk you are going to hear this year!

Album Review:
If pop-punk was ever going to make a mainstream return, there would be no better album to make it happen then this new long player from Rainier, Oregon's Broadway Calls. The bands sophomore record Good Views, Bad News is a super catchy, monster hook riddled record that hits all cylinders from beginning to end, spanning a perfect 34 minutes. Lead vocalist Ty Vaughn lets you feel the strain he puts on his voice, as he hits every note full throttle but never crosses the line into a scream, while the remaining members of the trio compliment him with perfectly timed harmonizing. You can tell that Good Views, Bad News has a more polished production then their self-titled debut, which came from Descendents drummer Bill Stevenson and Jason Livemore tweaking the boards. This clean sound only boosts the albums likability because the record is just gritty enough with its tight chords and sharp lyrics for the Warp crowd but pops out of your speakers with every drum beat and soaring hook, which should please a larger audience. Good Views, Bad News is really the perfect storm of an album, as it successfully balances its punkier edges by drilling memorable chorus after memorable chorus into your head. This pop-punk concoction will get you to automatically buy into its big anthems, energized guitars and quickly will have you raising your fist and singing right along with Broadway Calls!
