Fire Drill Review:
Wolf & Cub have already been stirring some noise in their native land down under, while earning opening slots for bands like The Killers, TV On The Radio and Queens Of The Stone Age. On the groups sophomore album Science And Sorcery, Wolf & Cub once again combine psychedelic rock grooves and heavy rhythms to create a wall of sound that will surely grab some attention. Science And Sorcery does not necessarily have a very welcoming first listen as several of the tracks are built around experimental noise such as buzzing and screeching, while lacking that killer guitar riff or memorable lyric. What does appeal if you give Wolf & Cub another spin is their knack for creating a blended musical space that has flares of momentum and vacuums of bass, while interweaving lyrics that almost take a back seat to the music but ultimately complete the offering for an entertaining ride.
