Fire Drill Review:
Julian Plenti is an alias for Interpol frontman Paul Banks and Is Skyscraper is his attempt at a much more less intense type of record then his current day job. The album actually turns out to show that Banks could have an indie life after Interpol but fails to convince anyone that it should happen any time soon. The problem here is with Is Skyscraper's instrumentation, as it has problems supporting Bank's normal intensity and his familiar voice overtakes the songs on more than just one track. This can fixed with some studio tweaking and Banks should use some of Julian Plenti's material and techniques in order to make a fourth Interpol record that will simply be labeled "classic"!
