Fire Drill Review:
Moneen are a seasoned emo tagged band from Canada that have just released their fourth record The World I Want To Leave Behind. It is a competent batch of tracks that shows off the bands songwriting and passion for music and was produced by Grammy award-winning David Bottrill (Tool, Silverchair, Placebo, Muse). It is an album that swings for the fences and tries hard to balance Moneen's indie rock cred, while filtering into the mainstream with big sprawling hooks and memorable choruses. It works on several tracks - is too pop friendly on others, but still is a descent listen and even more so for current fans.
