Zoos Of Berlin"Taxis"
Self-Released [2009]

Fire Drill Review:
It is hard to believe that Zoos Of Berlin hail from Detroit City with their sophisticated indie pop that has a very smooth UK sound. The bands debut Taxis, follows up their three song EP with eleven new modern tunes that at certain times have a more historic prog rock undertone like a Pink Floyd or Yes. The most interesting factoid about Taxis is that the band rented a very large room at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit for six weeks, built a makeshift studio, and recorded the bulk of the album there. Here they were able to create an all natural effect for their soundscapes that totally succeed and jam pack the album with musical life. Overall Zoos Of Berlin have a totally different sound then 95% of the bands out there, which makes Taxis a refreshing and enjoyable step forward for the band and their vibrant sound!
