The Asteroids Galaxy Tour: Fruit

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
Fruit
Small Giants Records [2009]

Fire Drill Review:
Scandinavian group The Asteroids Galaxy Tour make their full length debut with Fruit, which extends their style of soul, dance and pop found on their EP late last year. They are a group at first listen that grabs your attention because charismatic lead vocalist Mette Lindberg has a swagger to her vocals that is very inviting like Nina Persson (The Cardigans) and really drives each tracks pace. The end result is that several of the tracks here are very catchy and could easily pop up on your favorite TV show but as an album, Fruit struggles to hold up to too many repeat listens because there is no one "it" track that exceeds the rest.

Key Track: "The Golden Age"

Band With Similar Fire: Deee-Lite
