Fire Drill Review:
Haunting, eerie, and spooky are all words that can describe the vibe on the debut from Dead Man's Bones. Other words that work are mesmerizing, oddly good and weirdly catchy! You will be surprised that half of the duo comprising Dead Man's Bones is Academy Award-nominated actor Ryan Gosling. The music found here was originally intended to be a soundtrack to a play about a monster-ghost-love-story. With companion Zach Shields, the music turned into an album where the guys played all of the instruments and what really makes the record stand out is the inclusion of the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir. The kids vocals combined with doo-wop songs about werewolves and haunting melodies make Dead Man's Bones an entertaining listen and much better then you might originally think. Dead Man's Bones is a record that has a wow factor to it just after one spin and is well worth checking out!
