Joel Plaskett: Three

Fire Drill Review:
I will let you figure it out but there is a theme to Canada's Joel Plaskett's new release Three. With a triple album and titles like "Down, Down, Down", "Deny, Deny, Deny" and "Wait, Wait, Wait" you may be able to guess that this release revolves around the concept of rolling in threes. Now only 12 of the 27 tracks found here have three one word titles as Plaskett had many other songs that complemented his idea and helps take the release from overkill to interesting. For some, the three disc and hour and half running time will be too much, but for fans there are plenty of solid folk-pop tracks here that are both catchy and memorable. I think overall Three could have been superb if it had been paired down to One, but that would have squelched the artistic vision that was a neat idea and was worth to try once even with putting cohesiveness at risk!

Key Track: "Run, Run, Run"
