Fire Note Says:
The Raveonettes are good at what they do!

Album Review:
There is something to be said about persistence and consistency. For the Danish group The Raveonettes, consistent can describe their catalog and on their fourth record In And Out Of Control the band brings the same Jesus & Mary Chain meets 60's doo-wop to these eleven tracks as we have heard before. In And Out Of Control finds the band back to a more produced studio sound compared to last years Lust Lust Lust [2008], but the key about the Raveonettes is that they are good at what they do and for them it isn't about offering something completely new as it is to offer quality. In And Out Of Control does have an intriguing balance of blending some of their darkest subject matter with the sunny vocals of Sharin Foo. This gives the listener a reason to look beyond the music and ponder the message, while still having a reverb good time. The record also has catchy tracks like "Last Dance", which highlights the duo's knack for making great pop songs that really shines through and helps carry this record beyond the threshold of just being OK. The confidence of a group with a solid catalog outweighs the fact that The Raveonettes only shift their sound slightly right or left versus a complete change on every record. In And Out Of Control follows this formula and should still be a must buy for followers of the group and even could be a starting point for any new audience they pick up along the way!

Key Tracks: "Last Dance", "Breaking Into Cars", "Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)"
