Fire Drill Review:
John Nolan takes advantage of his solo outing and offers a complete unique side of himself that easily can be differentiated from his frontman duties in Straylight Run and the early years of emo rockers Taking Back Sunday. He offers several different styles on Height with acoustic numbers, lo-fi singalongs and several computer beat driven tracks that are all entertaining. Nolan also covers Primitive Radio Gods "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In Hand", which actually is a good example of his style as he accomplishes making this song even more lonely and atmospheric with his likable version. Overall, fans of his other bands will most certainly be into this record, as it showcases his strong songwriting skills and vocals, while giving him one more musical outlet.
