The Shaky Hands: Let It Die

The Shaky Hands
Let It Die
Kill Rock Stars [2009]

Fire Drill Review:
Portland, Oregon's Shaky Hands offers up a nice slice of retro-indie rock on their third record Let It Die. The album contains some of their most straightforward tracks to date, as they keep a mostly mid tempo pace and have a very Big Star meets the Stones delivery from frontman Nicholas Delffs. For the band, Let It Die ventures into more mature themes as the trials and tributes of ageing are addressed, along with the finalization of things in general. This subject matter may make the record a lyrical bummer but it does have a real cohesion with the music and makes The Skaky Hands third record well worth the listen!

Key Track: "Allison And The Ancient Eyes"

Band With Similar Fire: Blitzen Trapper
