Not my Weezer but it still has its moments.

Album Review:
I must admit that I am really conflicted after checking out the seventh release from Weezer becasue the cheesy fun rocker in me wants to embrace it, while the indie nerd in me wants to puke. This uneasy and inner disagreement comes from a multitude of angles, that includes the title Raditude, the inclusion of Jermaine Dupri and Lil Wayne on "Can't Stop Partying" and the sappy soaring ballad "Love Is The Answer", complete with some Bollywood moments. Stepping back for a moment and taking Raditude at face value does make you realize that it has the same one two punch tightness of earlier records and includes killer hooks and comical lyrics. This really holds up in the first two songs "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To" and "I'm Your Daddy", but after that, it is very easy to lose interest in the record because it simply lacks substance. Especially if you have been with Weezer since 94' then the 09' version of the band won't do that much for you minus hearing the singles a few times. This leaves us with the simple hope that Raditude got some of the mid-life crisis issues out of the way and next time a return to Weezer the alt-rock heroes is fine by me!

Key Tracks: "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To", "I'm Your Daddy", "Put Me Back Together"
