Panther: Entropy

Fire Note Says: Groups third LP most focused to date!

Album Review:
Portland's Panther is back with Entropy - their third LP of new material that offers up a much more straightforward listen compared to the bands more experimental past. Panther was created by Charlie Salas-Humara and originally was a one man show until drummer Joe Kelly (31Knots) joined before the last record 14k. God [2008] released. The group is known for their insane "floor dancing" live shows and previous records that have sporadic yell outs and keyboard jams. What changes on Entropy is that Panther employ a much more concise indie approach that has tighter song structures, harmonized vocals and piano driven tracks that are a good fit for the talented duo. The group still is able to keep things a bit loose with a undertone of jazzy rhythms but makes an effort at a more overall complete album that is short and to the point! For fans, this new direction may be a bit of a turn off at first but I guarantee Entropy is more of a grower that plays better after multiple listens and these new tracks will most certainly work nicely into the their typical chaotic live show!

Key Tracks: "Bridge On Fire", "Birds That Move", "Control Yr Ships"
