Fire Note Says:
Perfect for any time of the season!

Album Review:
The debut album from Real Estate is definitely the breezy affair that their album cover suggests. The New Jersey quartet brings together a mellow indie sway with a surf music backdrop all wrapped in subtle but yet gorgeous melodies. The bands approach has a very calming effect on the listener and truly their record could be on repeat all day and you simply won't get tired of listening. Real Estate blend their harmonies with a trace of reverb, that leaves you with the notion that they are more about lo-fi pop but when you reach the first surfy instrumental track "Atlantic City", the entire picture starts to sink in. The band has a greater expansive sound then first thoughts trigger and this point is no more highlighted then by the over six minute "Suburban Beverage", that offers a complete array of instrumentation supported by several vocals but overall is entrancing. Real Estate do the unthinkable here on their debut by actually creating something unique, while still remaining under a perfect "indie" umbrella. It is the type of record that has a timeless sound and most certainly will not only play solid next decade but also in the ones to follow!

Key Tracks: "Black Lake", "Fake Blues", "Suburban Beverage"
