Late last year we panned the remastered reissue of Big Star's excellent early albums #1 Record/Radio City due to packaging, so we were happy to get our hands on this new four CD set Keep An Eye On The Sky, which spans 1968 to 1975 and shows the progression of Big Star. It covers members solo work and includes unreleased demos, unused mixes, alternate versions of songs, and a 1973 concert recorded in Memphis. It is the live items included here that really help close the chapter on Big Star and permanently secure their cult status in indie rock history but this perfectly laid out collection of 98 songs finally gets the band in the right context and will be the new staple to judge Big Star's collective work!
