Fire Note Says: Another reason to like the Brooklyn music scene with this solid debut!
Album Review:
Indie dance synth rock is all the rage right now and Brooklyn's Bloodsugars can be added to the list of bands that do it right. With this genre, there is a very fine line of maintaining a respectable indie status, while not going overboard with the "dance" beats and coming off completely campy. It is also very easy to come off routine. Lucky for us - The Bloodsugars do neither and confidently walk the line with each track, by providing plenty of catchy melodies, shifting tempo changes, moments of reverbish bass and plenty of stylistic grooves! This overall laid back vibe makes the bands debut, I Can't Go On, I'll Go On an enjoyable listen all the way through and makes repeat listens a must. The Bloodsugars pull off an unique mix that includes an 80's synth bounce in "Happiness". straightforward soul on "Girls At" and with the catchiest track on the record, in opener "Light At The End Of The Tunnel", the band kicks the album off with a swagger that invites you to stay for awhile and keeps your focus anticipating what comes next!

The Broken West want their album title back
Good call. The comma can only do so much to differentiate the two!
