Midnight Masses: Rapture Ready, I Gazed At The Body [EP]

Fire Drill Review:

Sometimes it doesn't take long to listen to a record and realize talent, which is the case with Midnight Masses. This ever-expanding collective of mostly Brooklyn-based artists, offers up a solid EP here of three seamless flowing hazy neo-soul originals and one Sonic Youth cover. The key to get excited about Midnight Masses is that along with core member Autry Fulbright the "collective" usually includes high end talent like long-time friend Jason Reece and Conrad Keely from And You Will Know Us By the Trail Of Dead, Gerard Smith and Jaleel Bunton of TV On The Radio, vocals from Sara Lucas of Callers and Peter Hale of Here We Go Magic drops in when available. The Rapture Ready, I Gazed At The Body EP was just released in December, so as it continues to build steam, it for sure has us hyped up for a full length debut that potentially could be a favorite here in 2010!

Key Track: " Preacher's Son"
