OK Go: Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky

OK Go
Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky
Capitol Records [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
OK Go try to avoid just being another "one hit wonder" band as their follow up Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky comes at you with different styles and a funky English groove undertone that might capture an entire new set of followers. Right from the opening buzzing bass in first single "WTF?", OK Go tell you right away that this record contains no poppy treadmills. In fact, employing producer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT) was a statement in itself, as OK Go almost retreat for the underground with this record of laid back sounds. This is not a bad thing as this more experimental approach may be the best answer to critics and for me puts OK Go on a watch list to see what they do next.

Key Track: "All Is Not Lost"
