King Of Prussia: The Time Of Great Forgetting [EP]

King Of Prussia
The Time Of Great Forgetting [EP]
Kindercore Records [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
A very simple flowing vocal over a somewhat indie western is what you will get on this quick new EP from King Of Prussia. This may surprise some fans as their debut Save The Scene (2008) was more of a psychedelic Brit-pop affair but before you totally think the band has went South, you need to listen closer. Just because The Time of Great Forgetting features some laid back piano, a tad bit of banjo and several isolating guitar licks, the record still has the likable vocals of Brandon Hanick with most of these instruments supporting the undertone structure of the songs. The overall result here probably more reflects Hanick’s departure from the States last year, as he moved to a more surreal Barcelona and the mixing/mastering from Jesse Mangum (Black Kids). This combination presents a friendly and appealing side of King Of Prussia that could lead to a perfectly balanced sophomore record that we would be eager to hear!

Key Track: "Waitin' For Something"

Band With Similar Fire: Peter Moren
