The Shazam: Meteor

The Shazam
Meteor
Not Lame Recording Company [2009]

Fire Drill Review:
The Shazam make a glorious rock return on their new long player Meteor, as we have not heard from the power poppers since 2002. What has always made their style special is that they have never fallen on the sugary side of things and constantly hit with a modern retro slice of 70's era rock 'n' roll. If fact, on Meteor the band recruited Reinhold Mack (Queen, ELO, Billy Squier) to produce, which adds an instant nostalgic sound and truly gives the album a distinct punch throughout. Ultimately, what makes Meteor a success is The Shazam's ability for solid song structures, soaring choruses and their fun rock attitude!
