Fire Note Says: Twin Tigers debut is something you will want to check out!
Album Review:
Twin Tigers are an exciting new band from the Athens, GA scene that provide a blended style of psych-shoegaze-indie-pop, which will most certainly make you take notice. This is the type of debut that oozes hype as Gray Waves is solid from beginning to end. What makes Twin Tigers more unique is that they really do morph in and out of different genres, while supplying plenty of soaring guitar, strong lead vocals and a confident attitude that makes you think they have been doing this for years. The band has a perfect balance of songs that average around the 3 minute mark, while several tracks expand on their sonic exploration the record is nicely packaged at just 36 minutes. This focus on tight song structures is Gray Waves success, while Twin Tigers have the ability to supply a steady dose of rock on the Stroke like "Everyday" or present a UK shoegaze vibe, reminiscent of Echo & The Bunnymen, on the over 6 minute title track, which really keeps the album fresh. Twin Tigers are a band to pick up now as Gray Waves has a little something for everyone and packs a punch that will make the entire group ecstatic!
