Yeasayer: Odd Blood

Fire Note Says: Another fun and solid outing from Brooklyn's Yeasayer!

Album Review:
The sophomore record Odd Blood from Brooklyn's Yeasayer was easily an album on our 2010 most anticipated list and for most of the records 40 minutes it delivers. The band's sound has not changed much since their excellent debut All Hour Cymbals [2007], as they incorporate foot tapping beats with indie choruses that are all styled within a more earthly world undertone. Basically, it has nice beats, nice vocals and several memorable lines. The only real thing holding Yeasayer back on Odd Blood is their own attempt to be eclectic in places that don't necessarily need it. This of course happens far and few between as most of Odd Blood has a riveting pulse that won't let you down if you enjoyed their debut. Yeasayer may not have released the album that we had held the bar high for but overall Odd Blood sounds solid after several listens and the tracks that are good are really really good!
