You Me At SixHold Me Down
Virgin Records [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
You Me At Six is an emo pop punk outfit from the UK that avoids the sophomore slump with Hold Me Down, as it has already debuted in the top 5 in their native land. The group most certainly should make some noise over here, as each track packs a solid punch with its soaring catchy choruses that are supported with humming guitars. The band has just enough edge to their music, that should appeal to a wide fanbase but never flounders into a sugary pop mode, which is the downfall of 90% of bands in this genre. Overall, You Me At Six does not create anything here that you have not heard before but Hold Me Down is an above average rock record that has a radio friendliness to it, while possessing an excellent replay value that should make them a band to watch in 2010.
