Bridges & Blinking Lights: Heroes, Guns & Snakes

Bridges & Blinking Lights
Heroes, Guns & Snakes
Self-Released [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
Texas quartet Bridges & Blinking Lights represent the strength of indie rocks large batch of unsigned bands. On the groups sophomore record Heroes, Guns & Snakes, the outfit combines pop like hooks with a strong lead guitar and the slightly gritty vocals of Jake Wilganowski. What gives Bridges & Blinking Lights a bit of a different vibe is how they include jam like moments and expand their songs, which is especially evident at the album's mid-point when three consecutive tracks cross the five minute mark. It is this balance that will make listener's argue if Bridges & Blinking Lights are a rock band or more of an indie band - regardless of where you land, Heroes, Guns & Snakes is a worthy record that you should hear just to be included in the conversation!
