Fire Note Says: Feel the circle of noise from Brooklyn's Golden Triangle.
Album Review:
Golden Triangle can be added to the rising list of bands which incorporate a lo-fi fuzzed out garage punk that swirls around with distorted vocals. The sub-niche Golden Triangle fall into is that they balance their art with the female duel vocals of Vashti Windish and Carly Rabalais. The back n forth and in and out vocals definitely drive each track but the feverish attitude the band displays makes Double Jointer what it is. The record was recorded over a two week period with producer Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House) and its outcome initially comes off laid back and care free but once you spin Double Jointer several times the songs start to all come together and have a much more planned out undertone. This is the key to Double Jointer, as it is a record that builds. The only thing holding Golden Triangle back some here is the lack of a true single but overall the record is a solid effort and puts them into the upper echelon of the genre.
