Fire Drill Review:
Massive Attack were one of the pioneers of trip-hop, so any attempt of returning to their glory days has their fans salivating. Heligoland doesn't mark a full return to their earlier days but does make a conscious effort of rediscovering their roots with the help of an all-star cast of guest vocals that includes Damon Albarn (Blur), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Guy Garvey (Elbow), Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio) and Martina Topley-Bird. Most tracks have a solid dark groove to them and even though there was a bit too much focus on the special vocals, the overall music on Heligoland has a sway and swagger to it, that only can be the product of the talented Massive Attack!
