Fire Drill Review:
The Ravenna Colt is the creative creation of former My Morning Jacket guitarist Johnny Quaid and Slight Spell is their debut record. He actaully split amicably with MMJ in 2004 and headed off to California, only to return back East to find his roots. This included hooking back up with MMJ frontman Jim James and co-founding the Removador Recordings & Solutions label. The Ravenna Colt sound just like you might think as they blend southern rock, Americana twang and California sun for an enjoyable and competent outing.
