Titus AndronicusThe Monitor

Fire Drill Review:
New Jersey's Titus Andronicus have easily created one of the most rocking and intriguing concept albums that loosely revolves around the Civil War ever. That is right - the Civil War. This juggernaut of a record is a breath taker with its 6 minute song average that concludes with a furious 14 minute mountain of a song that closes out the conceptual fight. It has vocals that are a blend of Bruce Springsteen and Conor Oberst, while having the musical help from members of The Hold Steady, Wye Oak, Vivian Girls and Ponytail. It has a multitude of grandiose rock moments, while reminding you that the enemies are out there and war is hell. It is an idea and a record that probably should have bombed but Titus Andronicus dare you to turn off their sophomore album The Monitor, as it is more infectious every time you spin it!
