If you think that the recent crop of lo-fi fuzzed out guitar bands is something new then you might want to check out this excellent retrospective from late 80's indie rockers Black Tambourine. The group featured members of Velocity Girl and really highlights that this style has been around for awhile. The collection captures all of the songs released by Black Tambourine, completely remastered and includes six previously unreleased tunes with four of those being brand new recordings that the band made in the Summer of 2009 especially for this compilation. Black Tambourine is one of those bands that many people have never heard of but shamefully should have been cranking out for years. Black Tambourine should be in any conversation when it comes to female fronted bands that specialize in fuzzed guitars and heavy reverb, as they easier rank up there with the best - trust me just check this record out!
