Fire Drill Review:
It seems like Norwegian group The Megaphonic Thrift were listening to a lot of Sonic Youth before recording Decay Decoy, as the band presents an almost perfect recreation of their sound. They do this by providing a multitude of solid guitar riffs, heavy feedback in sections and vocals that at times almost seem secondary. What makes The Megaphonic Thrift work is the fact that Decay Decoy is extremely musically tight. Every transition is meticulously planned and the stretches of instrumental components within tracks are what makes Decay Decoy shine. If you are looking for a new group that is loud but controlled and will fill your Dinosaur Jr./Sonic Youth void then The Megaphonic Thrift will be your ticket to punch and one you won't throw away any time soon!
