Audra Mae is the grand niece of Judy Garland and has been performing in musical theater since she was 4. This lengthy experience shines here, as Mae sounds like a seasoned veteran on her debut album The Happiest Lamb, that grabs your ear like a Neko Case, Jenny Lewis or Patsy Cline. The album is an excellent offering of sultry jazz folk that is lead by Audra Mae's flawless vocals. The Happiest Lamb could benefit from a few more upbeat numbers but its timeless appeal carries it well beyond just listening once, as Audra Mae is a new talent that could make some noise for years to come!
