Fire Drill Review:
House Of Tongues is the fourth album from New York's Elk City. Lead by the stellar vocals of Renée LoBue, the band circles through several different structures on its ten tracks. It is a true blend of rock, folk, soul and jazz, that at times has LoBue rocking out like a PJ Harvey or Kristin Hersh, while being able to bring it down a notch with a more sultry Hope Sandoval approach. The band morphs right along with her voice and gives Elk City the cohesiveness it needs to make House Of Tongues one of their best releases yet!
