Fire Drill Review:
You would never guess that Winston Salem band Jews And Catholics were a duo, as their fuzzy guitars, pounding rhythms and high energy pace create a soundscape you would only think capable from an arsenal of members. The reality is, Jews And Catholics are comprised of upright bassist Alanna Meltzer and guitarist/vocalist/sequencist Eddie Garcia. It is a true rock blending of Meltzer’s 10 years orchestra experience and Garcia’s 14 years of rock band duties. Who Are? We Think We Are! has a sophistication to it that is able to maintain its big rock anthems, while still providing enough punchy moments that kick your speakers in gear. In the 40 minutes here, Jews And Catholics show both promise and need for growth as several tracks are real keepers and others won't make an impression but with a great band name and plenty of good ideas they should still be a band to watch!
