Murder By Death: Good Morning, Magpie

Murder By Death
Good Morning, Magpie
Vagrant Records [2010]

Fire Drill Review:

Murder By Death present such a depth to their music on Good Morning, Magpie that it simply will overtake you at moments with its intensity. This of course is a good thing, as its sonic highlights and Adam Turla's deep Johnny Cash like vocals mix up an unique Goth meets Americana that feels isolated but yet liberating. Most of this undercurrent of mystery comes from Good Morning, Magpie being written in the solitude of the Tennessee mountains and treated with a complete focus which pays off in every track. Quite simply it is Murder By Death's fifth album and easily one of their best to date that gives back something different every time you hit replay!

Key Track:
“King Of The Gutters, Prince Of The Dogs"
