Devo: Something For Everybody

Devo
Something For Everybody
Warner Bros Records [2010]

Fire Note Says: A fun flash back to yesteryear!

Album Review:
Something For Everybody finds Devo making a return to the scene with all new material that may not bring back their hey day but it is a solid outing that should please longtime fans with its upbeat pulse and traditional herky jerky song structures. The band will never win awards for strong lyrical content but Something For Everybody is light years ahead of their last record released in 1990 and better then anything the band has released since 1981. All of their staple components are present with driving synths, robotic vocal styles and foot tapping beats. The success found here is that Devo absolutely don't take them selves serious, which only drives the records confidence because Devo are just doing what they know how. They are nerdy, they are sarcastic, and they are back to give you a good time!

Key Tracks: "Step Up", "No Place Like Home", "Fresh"
