Fire Drill Review:
This is the first release from Trent Reznor since NIN was put on indefinite hiatus. The big difference with How To Destroy Angels is that Reznor's wife and ex-West Indian singer Mariqueen Maandig takes over the lead vocal duties. The disappointing part about this record is not really the music, as it is more about Reznor not taking this project to a different musical spectrum with a bit more risk. There is no question that Maandig can sing nor that Reznor can sequence some hard hitting beats but can How To Destroy Angels move beyond what Trent has already accomplished and really give us something new and fresh on a full length - we hope so because this release still shows promise!
