Fire Drill Review:
Nora Jane Struthers debut will instantly strike your traditional Americana chord with her smooth likable vocals and spot on harmonies. Sure the 26 year old has an old soul but her album still sounds remarkably fresh, even though it follows a very traditional bluegrass style. She has been gaining momentum in Nashville and this record was produced by Brent Truitt (Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, Dixie Chicks), that seems like it was the perfect choice. She is an excellent storyteller and it should not surprise you that Struthers used to be an English literature teacher in Brooklyn. It is a combination of all these elements that make Nora Jane Struthers so engaging, so if you are looking for a change of pace then this record for sure will fill your void!
