Fire Drill Review:
Last year Peter Case had a near fatal heart scare that required immediate open heart surgery and also lots of recoup time. Well that provided the minutes to write Wig! but Case also spent time working on reissues of his earlier rock bands The Plimsouls and The Nerves, which steered Case back to his roots. The result is a dirty blues rock n roll record that reminds us of why Peter Case is an indie icon. This album finds Case enjoying the rougher edgier sound of his past and I am sure it will extend his life expectancy, as Wig! is the most comfortable and unrestricted Case has sounded in years!
