Fire Drill Review:
Barbara is We Are Scientists fourth album and it finds the group pumping out studio controlled synth pop more then ever. All the songs on Barbara have a catchy style to them that contains thoughtful lyrics, a shift in tempo and a sing-a-long chorus. The album itself is very listenable but feels too safe for a band that is now on their own label and had so much brooding energy on With Love And Squalor [2005]. Barbara should still play well with the We Are Scientists UK fan base but probably won't earn the band enough new followers to gain attention anywhere else.
