The Young Veins: Take A Vacation!

Fire Note Says:
This is the sunny side of Panic!

Album Review:
Two main components in The Young Veins are no other then ex-Panic At The Disco members Ryan Ross and Jon Walker. You may be thinking right away that this band is their own brand of emo punk pop but that would be jumping to a quick conclusion, as The Young Veins are a straight up California 60's breeze pop group that draws on influences that run from The Beatles to The Kinks to Phantom Planet. Take A Vacation! is a fun 30 minute ride that is perfect for that sunny day where you roll down the windows and turn up the volume. This record probably won't appeal to the Panic crowd but should find a completely new audience that adores this sound and style. The important thing to remember about The Young Veins is that Ross and Walker are only 23 years of age, which only promises good things to come, as they develop into even stronger songwriters. Take A Vacation! doesn't quite have enough punch or diversity to make it album of the year but with its warm harmonies and honest approach, it is the perfect debut for The Young Veins as they are a band to watch!
