The Orbans: When We Were Wild

The Orbans
When We Were Wild
Self-Released [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
Fort Worth's Orbans have released a solid indie record in When We Were Wild that has a nice combo of catchy pop hooks with an undertone of their Americana home front. This Old 97's meets Wilco vibe never gets old if you can pull it off and that is exactly what The Orbans do with both upbeat tracks like "Were Her" and heartfelt soft numbers, like the closer "Go". When We Were Wild was produced by Adam Lasus (Yo La Tengo, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Clem Snide) and even though it follows an old formula, The Orbans sound completely fresh and are worth every minute you give their new record!

Key Track: "Were Her"

Band With Similar Fire: Wilco
