Tommy KeeneTommy Keene You Hear Me: A Retrospective 1983-2009
Second Motion Records [2010]

Fire Drill Review:
Tommy Keene has to be one of the most under appreciated guitarist singer songwriters out there, as he has been producing quality records since the early 80's. He has played as a hired gun with everyone from Paul Westerberg to Bob Pollard and never has disappointed on his solo material. It is a clear case of should have made it but didn't. All of that aside, this 41 song retrospective easily provides the lesson and support of why you should also enjoy Tommy Keene. His songs are catchy, his hooks hold your attention and his work, both early and later years, sounds timeless. This compilation covers every era of his career from some early EPs to the major label material right up to last year's In The Late Bright [2009]. The record also contains several rarities, so even the most devoted fans will still have a reason to pick this collection up. If you never utter Tommy Keene's name again, do yourself a favor and become familiar with this retrospective - you will thank me later!
