Fire Note Says: Another lo-fi pop gem!

Album Review:
I don't know if other people have grown weary yet of the lo-fi summer pop that has recently been flooding the indie airwaves but personally I can't seem to get enough. Brooklyn's Beach Fossils is another entry into the genre but after just one listen through their self-titled debut, you will recognize that they are in the top echelon. This is a simple record on the surface as most tracks keep a fairly mid-tempo pace of stand out guitar strokes with some bass lines, background drumming and the soft pleasant vocals of Dustin Payseur. What makes Beach Fossils so catchy is the fact that the songs are relatively simple with short track names that are very descriptive. "Vacation" is about going out of town, "Lazy Day" about relaxing, and "Daydream" well you can just guess - I am sure you were correct. This plays out perfectly as Beach Fossils uncomplicated approach lets you get lost in its fun breezy side and just totally enjoy the quick guitar hooks and told tales. Beach Fossils continually gets better after every listen and will easily find itself stuck, in whichever applies to you, be it your playlist, shuffle or physical player. Not sure where this genre is going for longevity but until its conclusion, Beach Fossils should definitely be noted as another band to praise!
