Fire Drill Review:
Do you think a record would be more relaxed if it was recorded in your living room? After hearing the sophomore record from Cotton Jones, I would answer yes. Tall Hours In The Glowstream was indeed recorded in the duo's living room studio and it's lo-fi backwoods vibe rings out track after track. Michael Nau (Page France) and Whitney McGraw have a great organic chemistry that is highlighted every time a harmony kicks in. This record feels more confident then their debut and is just an album to let play. It never goes overboard and never tries to hard. This approach also holds it back some just because Cotton Jones never take a risk. That doesn't mean that certain tracks are not memorable because there are several repeated lyrical moments here that stick in your head. Cotton Jones is a group that sounds on the verge of breaking out big time with a bit more cohesion from track to track and should be an artist to follow well beyond this record!
